A PANORAMA ON VIETNAM ARCHITECTURE EXHIBITION 2009

Vietnam Architecture Exhibition 2009 from June 4-7/2009 at SECC had come to a successful end, but its great influence still remains in visitors. This positively confirms the success of this exhibition nationwide and internationally.

Vietnam Architecture Exhibition 2009 (shorted as Vietarc’09) is a high level playground for leading domestic and foreign investors, planners such as Vietnam Construction Corporation (VNCC), Vietnam Institute of Architecture Urban and Rural Planning, Survey, Design and Engineering Consultant Company of Ministry of Defense, AEDAS, HOK, Nikkei Sekkei, PTW, CGP, Ong&Ong, NBBJ... The participation of these above mentioned organizations is a promising picture for VIETARC’09 influential reputation both in domestic and international arenas.

The organizers announced that this exhibition has attracted 124 participating units with 425 exhibition stalls including 50 foreign participants from different countries such as USA., France, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Denmark, Norway, The United Kingdom, Spain, China... These 124 participating units consists of 50% in architectural sector, and the remaining are real estates companies, construction materials companies, and from relating sectors like technology, institutes, universities, publishers... VIETARC’09 Exhibition attracted about 50,000 visitors in 4 days of the exhibition and this number is within the organizers' expectation.

Beside the intensive competition of domestic and foreign planning and consulting companies, who bring to the exhibition different impressive models and pictures of their exhibits, we also witness great demonstration from big domestic and foreign companies manufacturing construction materials like Kelly-Moore, Toa, Inax, Dang Ha, Dong Tam, Euro Window, Tran Duc... All of them have found opportunities in business transactions and in effectively exchange of their experiences, from which they found opportunities to expand their market into worldwide countries. We especially have to mention that this professional information exchange opportunity between construction materials manufacturers and architects has brought forth very promising results.

Furthermore, the most important point is that Vietarc’09 has demonstrated highly professional character and level of participating units through their skillful and professional exhibition quarters. To recognize this effort, the organizers have announced and awarded typical exhibitors at the Gala Dinner, which was also the chance for exchanging ideas between architects and special guests as well.

In his opening speech, Architect Nguyen Tan Van, president of Vietnam Association of Architects confirms that "Vietarc'09 not only opens an opportunity to exchange experiences between enterprises doing business in construction sector, but also helps them have a new concept on future development in this field in Vietnam. We hope that via this exhibition, we can offer useful benefits to domestic and foreign architects, to different investors in better serve the general public."

At the opening ceremony, we also have the presence of Mr. Nguyen Hong Quan, Minister of Construction, Mr. Nguyen Van Dua, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong, Vice President of HCM City People's Committee. These distinguished guests all expressed their congratulations and best wishes to the exhibition. Mr. Quan announced that the Ministry of Construction highly appraises the professional skills of the organizers and he strongly believes  that Vietarc'09 will mark a new phase of development of the Vietnamese architecture after 50 years of building and growing.

From the point of view of the professionals, the public and different mass communications media, Vietarc'09 has actually gained a great success with good impression. It has especially set a favorable initial step and motivation for the organizers for future exhibitions.
