SUMMARIES & EVALUATION

1. Figures:

•    Total of units: 124 units
•    Architecture companies: 59 units (47,5%)
•    Real Estate companies: 9 units (7%)
•    Building material and interior companies: 48 units (39%)
•    Media and technology: 8 units (6,5%)

•    Total booths: 425 booths
•    Number of visitor turns: 50,000
•    Number of guests for Gala Dinner: 520
•    Number of guest for Forum: 150-180 people/ topic
•    Sponsors: main sponsor: 1 unit, co-sponsors: 9 units, media sponsors: 8 units.

 



2. Evaluations:
2.1. General evaluation:

•    425 booths of 124 units together with the display area of Vietnam Association of Architects, Ho Chi Minh City Association of Architects and public areas like Vietarc club… were presented attractively and logically in the exhibition hall of 9,000 m2.
•    All booths had efforts and high-investment determination to show professionally and seriously when joining in the exhibition. Beside of logic booth layout of which long and large booths in the center, all booths presented the high design level with high aesthetics that created a big success on form for the exhibition. Board of Directors of SECC and companies majoring in event organizations all recognize that Vietarc’09 is the most beautiful exhibition at SECC from IV quarter in 2008.
•    Basically, SECC is the international center on event organization, so it’s very logic for holding Vietarc’09 here.
•    Visitor quality was good. The number of professional visitors, business guests in the first 2 days made most exhibitors satisfactorily. By quick survey, exhibitors’ trade-promoting effect was good. Basically, most exhibitors felt pleased about trade-promoting effect at Vietarc’09.
•    Profession was carried out well by organizers, exhibitors and visitors. Results: no gross, no good and drink, aesthetics violation, good hygiene, serious registration…
•    Organizers’ re-investment activities were seriously implemented in accordance with commitment such as: refresh area, landscape area, information system, the good quality of living room and seminar room, professional press corner…

2.2. Attending evaluation of Architects:
•    The exhibition attracted lots of international architecture companies having impressive investment. Most of international architect offices with representative offices in Vietnam joined in the exhibition. The number of foreign architects at Vietarc’09 was more than 250 people, in which about 100 people as standing architects at booths and international architecture forum.
•    The attending of local architects was more than 3,000 people, showing high attention of these people. The attending of architect units in some provinces was more than 400 people.
•    Vietnamese design firms expressed the big effort in displaying their booths. Many materials, brochures were printed carefully showing level and integrating thinking into general style of architects in the world.
•    Exhibition and international architecture forum attracted the attention on profession of many local architects.
•    The attending of young architects was not enough. However, architecture students in the universities and volunteer students appeared impressively and youthfully at Vietarc’09. It was the big contribution into the success of exhibition.

2.3. International architecture forum evaluation:
•    Forum was a success in the first time due to factors like: quality equal with professional forums in the area, attendance of many big companies and famous architects in and out the country.
•    The content focused on current issues with high-quality speaking.
•    3-day forum was seriously and carefully implemented that showing the bid efforts from Professional council, moderators and organizers.
•    The forum created the big repercussion for the first time to international friends, especially through foreign speakers joining to the forum.

3. Conclusions:
•    In general, Vietarc’09 had got success in many aspects, attracted the big attention of professional circle and society. The exhibition and forum proved particular character under the lead and orientation of Vietnam Association of Architects and Ho Chi Minh City Association of Architects.
•    Vietarc’09 opened new suggests, awareness and chance for integrating and developing for Vietnamese architects.
•    Gia Phuc.Media proved the best efforts in professional and considerate organization so that the events were taken place continuously and ensured trading effects for all exhibitors.
•    Vietarc’09 was closed but opened lots of values and ideas to upgrade and better in the new organizations. Vietnam Association of Architects and Ho Chi Minh City Association of Architects have bravely invested and developed much more so that Vietarc has become a national architecture festival annually, be famous in the area with the highest professional quality and economic investment quality and society.
